The PowerEdge R740 is designed to speed up application performance to take advantage of
accelerator cards and storage scalability. The dual-slot 2U platform optimally balances resources to support the most demanding
environments.

• Persistent memory NVDIMM-N improves database performance by 10 times

Extend and optimize application performance

The R740 scalable enterprise architecture can scale up to three 300 W Gpus or six 150 W Gpus. With up to 16 2.5 "drives or eight 3.5" drives, the R740 offers a variety of features to fit almost any application and provides the perfect platform for VDI deployments.

• Three dual-width Gpus are used to expand VDI deployment, supporting 50% more users than the R730

• Use internal M.2 SSD optimized for startup to free up storage

• Use Intel® Xeon® SP to expand computing resources. Compared with the previous generation Xeon processors, the number of processing cores increases by 27% and the bandwidth increases by 50%.

The Dell OpenManage™ portfolio helps deliver high performance to PowerEdge servers that provide intelligent and automated management of daily tasks. Combined with the unique agent-free administration feature, the R740 is very simple to administer, freeing you up to perform advanced projects. • Simplify administration with the new OpenManage Enterprise™ console, while providing custom reporting and automated discovery capabilities • Take advantage of QuickSync 2 and easily access your server from your phone or tablet.
